ways of
heating the churches
Churches are quite specific objects. Objects of this type have never been adapted to any type of heating, the more convective. They are characterized by a fairly significant height-to-surface ratio, whereby the convectionally heated air rises to the higher parts of the church by gravity.
The only effective way to solve this problem is direct heating ECOSUN.
Due to the widespread and increasing energy problems in general, and therefore also in sacral objects in our country and not only – I dare to honor the Honorable Fathers to pay attention to the economically and technically not always hitherto achieved ways of heating these objects. I do this not for commercial purposes and I am only guided by the need to share nearly fifty years of experience in this industry.
I invite you to familiarize yourself with our offer.

Projekt
Zone heating
Our last project is the Parish of Our Lady of Częstochowa in Lipno, a gothic parish church, building. 1462, zone heating with low-temperature and high-temperature radiators.
WAYS OF HEATING
zone heating
High-temperature radiators, eg ECOSUN 2400 W, which are hung on the columns, emit heat in the form of radiation that directly heats the faithful, not the air.
These radiators can be made in any color, so that they blend with the internal architecture of the church.
These radiators can also be incorporated into the chandelier.
Another way to heat the churches is to use ECOSUN 130 W or ECOSUN 325 W low temperature radiators in benches or above-the-kneeling benches placed under the seats. In this case, you can use less power to achieve the same effect as with high temperature radiators.
We also heat zones such as the presbytery, confessionals, choir (organist), sacristy and other rooms in low-temperature radiators.
Using radiant heating controlled by weekly weekly programmers, we can heat at certain times of the day, e.g. during the Holy Mass. which further reduces heating costs.
I invite you to read our Bulletin Dom & Energie about the titles:

DRYING OBJECTS BY RADIATING RADIANT PANELS AND RE-THERMAL HEAT INSULATION
The popular saying “Pole wise after harm” is not very apt. By all means, I mean here the penultimate flood of the “century”, with all its consequences, and the prevention in particular – as seen in the last flood, probably referred to more and more often, the flood of the “millennium”. I wonder how it will be called “God FORBID NEXT FLOOD?”
The church was heated in a mixed way: using Ecosun 2400W high-temperature radiators and warming images with images of saints that are suspended in the main nave.
Suggestions
heating CHURCHES
I suggest a modern, cost-effective proposal (as an investment and in operation), trouble-free, maintenance-free – direct heating. It is propagated in the USA, Japan, Canada, France and Scandinavia for twenty years. About 50 MW of power from these devices without failure heats objects in our country in the central heating system for 8 years. Their production is based on American technology. the heat emission – (electromotive wave) is used from specially crafted plates heated by electricity in the range of 75 ° C-95 ° C and 275 ° C – 300 ° C. High temperature radiators are especially recommended for high-volume buildings. As for the churches, the need to create a heat effect is in specific places, times of day and days. Therefore, you can enter a weekly daily programmer with programmed hours of Mass. Full heat emission takes place 15 minutes after switching on.
We warm up the churches or rather the faithful as follows:
- a) centrally for the whole church – using the ECOSUN 2400 (2400 Watt) radiators,
- b) low temperature heaters (100-650 watts) placed under the bench or over the bench seats (see folder or picture below),
- c) zoning – ie separately, i.e. separately the presbytery – its surroundings (stalls), confessionals, choir -m organist and sacristy,
- d) mixed – combination of a + c or partly b + c.
Each of these methods has a separate power supply method. The maximum variant would always be a + c. from the best photos of the church and benches sent to us – in several shots, where we will find out how far are the supports and the width of the seat – we can make a radiator, which will be placed exactly under the seat.
The power of these elements can be adjusted between 2.7 and 3.6 W / cm of a long belt with a width of 30 cm – that is, located under the bench. The maximum variant would be if it were given beneath all the benches, but we know from experience that it is enough in every second with a larger unit power of the radiator.
.
In addition to low-temperature ones, there would also be radiators in confessionals (ECOSUN 325), under or at the table (altar) – presbytery, choir and pulpit. As for low-temperature ones – they are periodically attached. for this variant, we add ECOSUN 2400 (2400 Watt) radiators. – high temperature mounted on the ceiling or on pillars – directed to lava or presbytery. Controlling all these devices, especially in benches, would be separate and temporary.
the heating cost is the turn-on time (1 mass) x kW amount x rate. In a medium-sized (old) gothic church – not isolated – from the tray you have to take off for, for example, mass services about 80 zlotys. These are calculations for the church in Szczecin (at PLN 0.56 / 1kW)
This heating usually turns on (where necessary) for 0.5-0.25 hours. before and after the mass, before the end of the mass (manually or automatically – the clock). There would already be a central heating system in the sacristy. ECOSUN, controlled by a thermostat, 24 hours a day. This is how the churches of the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary are heated. In Poland, there are several churches in Suwałki, Olsztyn, Konstancin, Zakopane, Jelenia Góra and also near Bielsko-Biała and Rzeszów. Any other heating will be many times more expensive and its dubious effect (floor water or electric – expensive + dust, blowing – dust and allergies from summer deposits – car transport if there are water filters.) Traditional heating convective churches from radiators, with floor or ventilation is in XXI age is a technical misunderstanding.
To reduce the costs of the proposed heating, if the layout of the church + nearby parish house allows it, and even more the monastery buildings or seminary, where we can calculate how much we need electricity during the whole year and how much we need hot sanitary water – for these calculations and for these needs – if the facility is connected to the gas network, has or wants propane-butane or heating oil or diesel, you can choose the right heating and electric generator. Such a sacred object will have its electricity and hot water from gas or oil (see the Dom & Energie bulletin).
Heating paintings
with religious subjects

To warm the churches, the sacristy, the catechetical hall, the parish house, we can successfully use radiators in the form of paintings of any religious theme painted by a painter, which we can combine into diptychs and triptychs.
As a producer of Ecosun radiators, we are able to produce radiators of any heating power, adapting it to the desired surface that we want to heat and any shape, for example in a square or rectangle for any long time adapting them to recesses or pillars in buildings.
Our projects include paintings of the Mother of God, saints and biblical scenes. An interesting implementation is the Way of the Cross created from individual radiators with stations painted by a painter.
